Rose

Scientific name: Rosa
Family: Rosaceae
Genus: Rosa
Rose (Rosa) is a flowering plant in the Rosaceae family, most species being native to Asia. The many types of garden roses we have today are a result of the crossbreeding of less than 10 species of Rose plants. The most common class of rose is that of the hybrid tea rose, which accounts for most of the roses grown in greenhouses and gardens and for sale in florist shops.
The flowers of wild roses typically have 5 petals, whereas cultivated roses often have multiple sets of petals. These gorgeous flowers can vary in color from bright reds, pinks, yellows, oranges and whites, and most varieties are sensationally aromatic. Rose essential oil is extracted from various types of roses and is widely used in perfumes and cosmetics.
