Marigolds hold a special place in my heart; growing up, my mom would plant them in her garden and around the backyard to keep pests away and add a pop of color and taste to our salads. When I started my own garden, I followed her lead, surrounding it with marigolds for natural pest control. They contain thiophene, which repels common pests like aphids, mosquitoes, and nematodes. On top of being pretty and reminding me of my mom, they’re so low-maintenance—making them a perfect choice if you forget to water!

Thank you for sharing, Madison! Love that your childhood memories of Marigolds carried into your own garden. Curious to try Marigolds in salads now!
